Televisa Networks launched Unicable in HD and SD for all of Latin America

According to Bruce Boren, VP of Televisa Networks, pay-TV channel Unicable is now available throughout Latin America and retains the same programming strategy it currently has in Mexico.“Within our expansion plans we always had the idea of bringing Unicable to the entire region. We had not done it for production reasons: most of the content would air on Canal de las Estrellas, but we reached a point where it ran out of space, so now we opened the channel to Latin America to broadcast the new content while keeping the grid the same,” said Boren.He said many of the productions that air on Unicable have already met success in the region; nonetheless, “we’re now distributing the brand both in HD and SD. We have co-productions with Colombia and have licensed others locally, but we want to keep the same programming strategy we have in Mexico.”
