TelevisaUnivision: Tierra de Esperanza is the warmest and most familiar story I’ve made and it aims to empower women

TelevisaUnivision presented its new telenovela Tierra de Esperanza, produced by José Alberto Castro, a remake of RTI’s La Tormenta for Telemundo. The story, starring Carolina Miranda and Andrés Palacios, premieres this Monday the 12th at 9:30pm on Las Estrellas, and a digital preview was released this Friday the 9th on its official website and on YouTube and Facebook.
“This is one of my most peculiar projects for what it represents, with a dynamic, in a very warm and familiar way and structure. It is perhaps the soppiest production I’ve done in my life, with a very different dynamic from what I’ve done before. Thanks to TelevisaUnivision because they have believed in what I want to propose,” commented Castro.
He emphasized that this telenovela aims to empower women, at a time when more and more stories are told about this. The challenge was to find locations that show how wonderful we and our country are, showing that the best that is done in Latin America in production is done here, at Televisa.”
After these words, he introduced via video the cast with a background music theme performed by his daughter Fernanda Castro. This musical display included Mariana Seoane, who also participates, and the closing was performed by the regional Mexican music singer Espinoza Paz.
Carlos Cock and Rubén Nelinho Acosta are responsible for the scene direction of this 60-episode story. The team of writers included Vanesa Varela, María Chávez, Alejandro Pohlenz, and Fabiola López. It has locations in Veracruz, Mérida, and Mexico City.
The story of Tierra de Esperanza begins when the father of María Teresa (Carolina Miranda) is unjustly imprisoned for fraud and they lose everything, except their hacienda, La Esperanza. After being a successful businesswoman, these events lead María Teresa to take a radical turn in her life, being forced to assume the reins of her farm.
The cast also includes Luis Roberto Guzmán, Sofía Castro, Sergio Goyri, Alejandro Tommasi, Luz María Aguilar, Martha Julia, Mariana Seoane, Natalia Esperón, Nuria Bages, Carmen Becerra, Daniel Tovar, Clarisa González, Mimí Morales, Erika García and León Peraza, among others.
