3 de octubre de 2025

The film, starring Jaime Camil, is scheduled to premiere in theaters in the second quarter of 2026

The Mediapro Studio US & Canada, Telemundo Studios and Cinépolis have joined forces to co-produce the film Catch Him If You Can (Atrápelo Quien Pueda), a new Spanish-language romantic comedy whose shooting officially began on Monday, the 29th.

The film stars actor Jaime Camil, known for his work on the series Jane the Virgin, in hit telenovelas, in films such as Steven Soderbergh’s KIMI, and in acclaimed Broadway performances. He is joined in the cast by Natalia Téllez, Isabella Arroyo, Ricardo Polanco, Verónica Langer, among other names to be announced soon.

The film is directed by Alfonso Pineda Ulloa. Laura Fernández Espeso is the producer for The Mediapro Studio, with JC Acosta and Francesca Ricagni as executive producers; Miguel Rivera and Francisca Barraza are the producers for Cinépolis; and Jacky Castro and Elizabeth Suárez for Telemundo Studios.

Cinépolis will handle theatrical release and sales in Latin America, Telemundo Studios in the U.S., and The Mediapro Studio will distribute the film throughout the rest of the world.

Atrápelo Quien Pueda tells the story of a widowed father who, encouraged by his 9-year-old daughter, returns to the dating scene after years away. After multiple failures and funny experiences with different relationships, he realizes that love was closer than he thought.

“Partnering with Telemundo Studios and Cinépolis on Catch Him If You Can represents an exciting step in our mission to create premium Spanish-language content with global appeal. This is a true collaboration that leverages each partner’s strengths in creativity, production and distribution—an ideal model for the kind of partnerships we aim to cultivate,” said JC Acosta, Head of The Mediapro Studio US & Canada.

Javier Pons, Chief Content Officer and Head of Telemundo Studios, added: “We are incredibly proud to join The Mediapro Studio and Cinépolis on this exciting film project. At Telemundo Studios, we are deeply committed to telling authentic stories that reflect the richness and complexity of Latinos everywhere. This collaboration will bring a powerful narrative to the screen that will resonate with audiences around the world.”

Miguel Rivera, Senior VP of Programming and Content at Cinépolis, said: “At Cinépolis we believe that romantic comedies remain one of the most powerful genres to draw audiences to theaters in Mexico. Catch Him If You Can has all the elements to captivate: a charismatic cast, a story many will identify with, and a tone that invites both laughter and emotion. We are convinced it is the kind of film that truly shines on the big screen, driven by the collective energy of a packed theater.”

Production services for the film will be handled by Cimarrón (The Mediapro Studio) in Colombia. This is the company’s first feature film in the country, following its participation in acclaimed projects such as Society of the Snow and the series Iosi, The Repentant Spy, among other notable works.

Santiago López of Cimarrón (The Mediapro Studio) commented: “With nearly two decades of regional experience, our operation in Colombia is supported by The Mediapro Studio’s local leadership and a solid network in Uruguay, Argentina and Mexico. What sets us apart is operating as a unified entity across four countries, which gives us the agility to move talent, projects and resources in ways that elevate what is possible in Colombia.”

The film is scheduled to premiere in theaters in the second quarter of 2026.
