Patrick Rivet Thema Mipcom

Patrick Rivet, CEO of Thema America, announced that the joint project with Kanal D is already available for Latin America and US Hispanic. The channel is called Kanal D Drama and has more than 1,500 hours of original programming dubbed into Spanish.

Kanal D Drama is already on the air in four countries in Latin America: Chile, Bolivia, Peru, and Uruguay. “We hope to soon be in a large part of Latin America. In Jornadas in Argentina, we spoke with two big cable companies in the region and they seemed to be very interested, we hope to be working with them by January,” expressed Rivet.

“Our mid-term goal is to be throughout all Latin America. In 15 days we will be in four territories, therefore we will surely reach the entire region. Additionally, the Turkish product is very good and people like it worldwide,” said the executive.

The contents in the channel are current, the same ones they are presenting in Mipcom. The series include Las Chicas del Sol, Guerra de las Rosas, among others.

Likewise, Rivet informed they have a project to launch by 2019 the European film channel Studiocanal, of which they have all the rights and they already have a catalog of more than 6 thousand hours of films. It was recently launched in the US, together with Canal+ and Cnews.
