Twitter appoints Gerardo Vélez as Head of Content Partnership for Entertainment of the Spanish speaking market

Vélez will be responsible for initiating, structuring and negotiating agreements and content with companies and brands in Latin America

In the newest bet of Twitter to promote premium content in Spanish-speaking markets, the social network named Gerardo Vélez as the new Head of Content Partnerships for Entertainment on the Spanish speaking markets in Latam.

Vélez will be responsible for initiating, structuring and negotiating agreements and content with companies and brands in Latin America, as well as nurturing the Twitter ecosystem throughout the region, which is especially important in markets such as Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and others. These are countries with steady growth, both in revenue and in the number of users.

The new member of the Twitter team referred to the importance of Mexico: “It is a market full of youth, of audiences that generate tendencies that are moved by their passions, that have a discovery mindset. It is a market with whom we’ve been growing and with whom we have a very interesting challenge in bringing premium content allying with the brands that they are interested in being part and taking advantage of this key moment. Our platform has this unique value that the traditional media sees us as an ally to amplify their content, because today they understand that the “second screen”, where the conversation about their shows, soapoperas, realities, event coverage, talent, parties, debates, etc., lives, is on our platform; we are what is happening in the world”.

Before joining Twitter, he was responsible for the relationship and alliances with traditional media for YouTube Mexico, where he was part of the new business development team for Google Mexico and achieved key clients and special projects with Televisa Interactive Media.
