Univision Communications Inc. held the industry’s first Hispanic Digital Content NewFront presentation in New York City. During the event, the Company unveiled plans for a new slate of original digital content – including Flama, a new digital destination for Hispanic millennials – to reach an influential consumer that represents both modern America and Latino culture in an irreverent and authentic voice. “Univision is leading the marketplace to the two biggest growth opportunities for advertisers today – Hispanics and Digital media. Univision is the gateway to a demographic of digital-natives that is younger and more engaged,” said Kevin Conroy, president of Digital and Enterprise Development, Univision Communications Inc. “Univision is bringing content to life through technology. We are focused on super serving our core audience and reaching new ones with original digital content and formats targeting the next generation of U.S. Hispanics on every platform and connected device,” said César Conde, president of Univision Networks. “Hispanic millennials are trend setters. They possess the unique sophistication of living in two worlds and every day are influencing the direction of American culture. Flama is a place that will represent the voice of this generation and where marketers can speak directly to them,” said Tonia O’Connor, president of Content Distribution and Corporate Business Development, Univision Communications Inc. Digital platforms are a primary vehicle for Hispanic millennials to consume edgy content that is unapologetic and that resonates with their unique bicultural experience. To serve this influential audience, Univision is launching Flama, a new digital destination with culturally relevant content. Flama will house original one-off videos and recurrent series across a variety of genres, from comedy to documentary, in addition to ancillary editorial and the best in social features. Flama is scheduled to debut in the fall.
