WAPA TV announces during its 2012 Upfront co-production of Idol Kids with FremantleMedia

Puerto Rican’s leading broadcast station, WAPA Television, revealed an exciting new year of programming in a glamorous Vegas-themed night at the 2012 Upfront, which took place at the Puerto Rican Convention Center in San Juan.The venue was transformed into a glittering Las Vegas-style casino, where more than 500 guests—including celebrities, advertising agencies, clients, reporters and special guests—learned about WAPA´s new programming for 2012.Following the success of the inaugural season of Idol Puerto Rico, WAPA announced a second season of the reality show. In addition to Idol Puerto Rico, WAPA, in coproduction with FreemantleMedia, will introduce a new spinoff featuring the Island’s best young talent, Idol Kids. WAPA also announced the introduction of Minute to Win it based on the reality format that has proven success in more than 40 countries worldwide.The network will continue as Puerto Rico’s leader in local production with new seasons of its original programs, including Entre Nosotras, Pégate al Mediodía, Risas en Combo, WAPA a las Cuatro, Sunshine Remix, and SuperXclusivo —the top-rated local program on the Island. WAPA will launch two new shows based on the comedy of celebrated Puerto Rican comedian Sunshine Logroño; Mama’s Boy and Mongüi y Pescuezo, as well as an unprecedented new special featuring Puerto Rican magician and illusionist, Reynold Alexander.“We will continue to produce and acquire the most innovative programming for our viewers and advertisers in 2012 and beyond,” said José E.
