Latino audiences represent one of the biggest opportunities for brands in the U.S., yet many marketers continue to overlook their influence and economic power, according to Veronica Elizondo, Chief Creative Officer at Conill.

Elizondo emphasized that investing in Latino audiences is no longer a niche strategy, but an opportunity for brands to connect with one of the youngest and fastest-growing segments of the U.S. population.

“If you’re not investing in Latino audiences, you’re missing out. Truly,” said Elizondo.

Beyond their demographic growth, Latinos are playing an increasingly important role in shaping culture, technology adoption and emerging trends. Their economic influence is also significant: Elizondo pointed to the scale of Latino purchasing power as evidence that brands can no longer afford to treat the community as an afterthought.

But for Elizondo, the opportunity goes beyond statistics. The relationship between Latino audiences and brands can be particularly strong when companies demonstrate a genuine commitment to the community.

“What makes it exciting is the connection. If you do it right, Latino audiences are incredibly loyal and engaged. They show up for brands that truly show up for them,” she said.

That connection, however, comes with expectations. Brands entering the space must approach Latino audiences with consistency, respect and authenticity rather than treating multicultural marketing as a one-off initiative.

“The real question is: why are so many brands still overlooking Latinos?” Elizondo said. “And if you’re going to step in, just know you have to commit. Be respectful, be consistent, and do it in an authentic way.”

For the Conill creative leader, audiences can quickly recognize when a brand’s efforts are not genuine. As Latino culture continues to influence the broader U.S. cultural landscape, the brands that understand that relationship—and invest in it consistently—stand to build stronger and more meaningful connections.
