Founders and HALLS took inspiration from Formula 1 pit stops to transform a brief pause in traffic into a refreshment

During Mexican Grand Prix week, independent agency Founders brought HALLS’ “La Ley de Checo” campaign to the streets of Mexico City with “Pit Stop Corners,” an activation that turned waiting at a red light into an opportunity to take a breath.

For their first collaboration, Founders and HALLS took inspiration from Formula 1 pit stops to transform a brief pause in traffic into a moment of refreshment.

The idea drew on a familiar reality: in Mexico City, everyone is running a race. Between traffic, daily responsibilities and the pressure to arrive on time, the city’s pace demands constant movement. “Pit Stop Corners” brought the message of “La Ley de Checo”—“Checo’s Law”—beyond the track, encouraging people to breathe before making a decision.

Staged at the Monument to the Revolution, the activation involved nearly 300 cars, bringing the excitement of Formula 1 pit stops to city traffic. Dressed as a pit crew, a team surprised drivers and passengers as they waited for the light to turn green. With uniforms, a stopwatch and coordinated movements, the crew turned a few seconds at an intersection into a motorsport-inspired experience.

“During a week like the Grand Prix, publishing timing is part of the idea. We had to produce, edit and publish within hours so that what was happening on the street could reach social media in real time. That requires thinking about creativity and production together from the outset, with a team ready to make decisions and maintain quality at that speed,” said Delfina Lamino.

Handing out HALLS brought the product’s refreshing sensation into the interaction, giving the pause a purpose. For a moment, a red light became an opportunity to slow down, breathe and carry on.

The concept connected two settings shaped by speed, pressure and constant decisions: the racetrack and everyday life. It brought motorsport into a situation familiar to anyone navigating the city, whether or not they followed Formula 1.

For Founders and HALLS, the collaboration translated the campaign message into a street-level experience, placing the product at the center of a direct interaction with consumers. The traffic light, the waiting time and the surroundings of the Monument to the Revolution all became part of the creative execution.

A video captured the crew’s arrival, interactions with participants and their surprised reactions, extending the activation to digital audiences.

With “Pit Stop Corners,” Founders and HALLS turned an everyday pause into a reminder of “La Ley de Checo”: take a breath and make better decisions.
