Rodrigo García Saiz: Creo que ser un director 4x4
Born and raised in the Mexican capital, Rodrigo Garcia Saiz attended the National Autonomous University of Mexico and continued at the UNAMS University Center of Cinematographic Studies. He pursued his professional studies with workshops in New York and direction courses in Havana.Garcia told PRODU that as a boy he wanted to be a firefighter, an astronaut or a soccer player what I knew in no uncertain terms is that I was restless and I wasnt ever going to be shut up in an office. Finally, because of his home environment my dad was a photographer and my mom was a painter he was attracted to moviemaking. I studied for eight years, almost like a doctor, and Im still learning with every production Garcia says.Saiz was influenced by Hitchcock, Polanski and the Coen Brothers, and is inspired by life itself: The truth is that Im very much a voyeur I love watching people, I enjoy every city and its culture. He began in advertising in 2002, and says Im crazy about advertising every time I see what theyre doing in other countries. To see and enjoy the reels of my colleagues is a learning experience. His best creation of all, he says unhesitantly, is his son. Professionally, he admits being as much in love with his work he was on his first day. About keeping up-to-date with the latest trends, Saiz says I dream of becoming a classical ice cream and not the flavor of the month.For the director, success is based on being happy with what you do, being proud and sure of yourself. Only work and perseverance bring success.Production company: Kontakto Reps, USAContact: {Rodrigo Garcia Saiz;JOHNBARREIRO@MAC.COM}T+1-310-559-8333{Watch video;www.produ.tv/popup.html?noti=7331}
