Óscar Azula is a Colombian director who has been thrice nominated as Best Ibero-American Director for Univisions Lo Nuestro Awards. He has directed a dozen music videos for artists like Carlos Vives, Carolina Sabino, Alex Pires and Charlie Zaa. He has also made commercials for AT&T, Telefonica, Agua Cristal, Movistar, Nestle, Mazda, Colgate Palmolive, Sancela-Papeles Familia, BanColombia, La Bastilla, Compañia Nacional de Chocolates, Colcafe and more.As if that werent enough, he was nominated for Best Latin American Director for the Ojo de Iberoamerica Awards and as Best Music Video Director at the 2002 Latin Grammys for the Carlos Vives video Dejame Entrar.In 1988, after taking a degree at La Esmeralda National School of Arts in Mexico City, Azula returned to his hometown in Colombia where he jumped at the chance to direct television programs. During these beginnings he became director of several beauty contests and for several seasons the series called Bellas y Famosas, to which he added his technique of using new angles that he later adapted to music videos.Today Azula lives in Bogota but frequently visits Mexico, the United States and Venezuela.
