The Brazilian director, Claudio Borrelli,  began very early in the direction of commercials in his native country. Afterwards, he moved to Los Angeles to study cinematography in UCLA. He worked several years in the U.S. and became a member of the Directors’ Network L.A. Later, he returned to Brazil and directed for many production houses, until he founded his own production company, Killers Filmes.

He has always worked for agencies such as BBDO, S&S, and JWT, and with brands of the stature of Ford, VW, Fiat, Visa, CCAA, Vivo, Honda, among others. He is currently represented by In & Out Productions, with whom he has developed big projects for the Hispanic market and the general US market.

Throughout these years, he has developed an impeccable and daring visual style. He is one of the most renowned and coveted directors in Brazil, thanks to his ability to carry out big and complex stagings.

How was your first approach directing commercials?
I always knew that what it was I wanted to do. I, unlike many directors, have never been an assistant of any kind I just started directing when I was very young and after went to study this in the U.S.

What’s your favorite genre?
Storytelling.

Where do you find inspiration?
From everything: people, TV, news, movies etc.

How would you describe your visual style?
Eclectic.

Who is the ideal client?
The one who trusts the work.
