Cannes launches new Innovation Lions category

This year the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity launches a new category entitled Innovation Lions to distinguish thinking that goes beyond the campaign, beyond the creative idea, to discover a whole new way of communicating.All Cannes Lions delegates are being invited to follow the evaluation process closely in this new category and get an advance view of the creative world’s most groundbreaking ideas.The selection process for Innovation Lions has no comparison in the festival. Delegates will be allowed to sit in on the June 15-16 sessions to observe the presentations of the candidates picked by the jury.In that way participants will be able to get first-hand information on trailblazing ideas and technologies, and learn what it takes to win in the category. Entries for Innovation Lions were closed at the end of March, but those who registered now have the opportunity to show their work, not only to a jury of experts, but also to a key sector of the creative communications industry, the decision-makers.
