The combined industries of advertising and media are losing around $9.6 billion a year due to inefficient management or dissatisfaction and misunderstandings between media outlets and the client over charges and payments. Many online advertising services are emerging such as on Google’s, which promotes and distributes ads and charges fees by the click.An advertiser or marketer is not responsible for the success of an ad or campaign and sometimes resist payment, which is why many media companies demand total payment in advance. However, some advertisers and marketers share the risk with a media company. This consideration costs the industry about $9.6 billion in revenue a year in unpaid bills.Google AdWords is a pay-per-click advertising service that is quickly becoming the standard for online promotions. All that is required is a valid credit card, establishing a budget and running the expenses on the credit account.There are also companies that offer back office support specializing in online advertising. Brent Anderson, senior VP at Account Assistants, showed reports of 77 percent recovery of lost income.Account Assistants rearticulates the value of the media service to customers. Their staff educates and resells customers on the importance of marketing and promotion while resolving the debt. “There should be a cordial and educational call immediately after the account is suspended for non-payment to secure lost revenue”, says Anderson.
