El 72% de la Gen Z está convencido de que puede cambiar el mundo

In 2017 teenagers between 12 and 17 years old will match adults in the use of smartphones, according to a recent eMarketer study titled U.S. Teens and Their Smartphones: The All-Purpose Device for Liking, Snapping, Ad Avoiding, Shopping and More. The report estimates that by 2017, 78.9% of this group will use these devices, while the figure will increase up to 77.1% in adults.Older teenagers have a greater likelihood than their younger counterparts to have a Smartphone, so penetration is even greater if we exclude 12 year olds. A poll conducted in December 2016 by Associated Press-NORC Center identified that 89% of teenagers between 13 and 17 in the U.S. are users of these devices. The study shows how dependent this group is on these devices. 38% of teenagers interviewed said they couldn’t go without their smartphones more than a day. This use is extensive to social networks. According to eMarketer estimations, 70.8% of teenagers between 12 and 17 in the U.S. will use social networks at least once this year on their mobile devices. According to a poll by Deloitte, 93% of the group between 14 and 19 identify themselves as social network users.Smartphone cameras have become crucial for social interaction among teenagers, explains eMarketer, and this is reflected in the use of platforms like Snapchat and Instagram. In fact, 81% of teenagers between 13 and 18 have accounts on both networks. This doesn’t mean they have abandoned Facebook, although the time and emotional energy they used to spend on this platform has declined, and penetration is on a slight drop.
