Filemón López: Our market share continues to grow and we keep looking for opportunities through all our sales channels

(Maribel Ramos-Weiner). This month, CTAM organized the first edition of the Florida Cable Forum. During the discussions titled “Meet the operator,” Filemón López, Regional Senior Vice President of Comcast South Florida, said his company is currently servicing around 810,000 Hispanic homes in the area (which covers about 920,000 subscribers) out of a universe of 1.8 million homes with the service.López said the challenges for 2010 are to continue delivering new products and services, achieving operational efficiency, and the automation of a greater number of processes. He spoke about projects in progress such as Cavalry or World of More (where they offer more channel options to consumers as a result of increased bandwidth), Docsis 3.0 (high-speed data), and Xfinity (more options, greater control). López indicated that around this time of the year, cable operators have a higher chance of capturing new subscribers: former satellite customers frustrated with service interruptions due to storms. “Our market share continues to grow and we keep looking for opportunities through all our sales channels,” he said.Ximena Rogers, Regional Marketing Director of Comcast, highlighted several successful alliances with channels like NFL for the Super Bowl , ESPN Deportes for the FIFA World Cup; Fox Sports, SíTV, Tr3s: Música y Más; and A&E Networks.
