Univision Communications and Hulu signed a multi-year content agreement that will bring hundreds of hours of top-rated Spanish-language novelas, variety shows, comedies, and reality series from the Univision family of networks to Hulu and Hulu Plus.Launching later this year, the offering will include current season primetime programming from the Univision Network -one of the top five networks in the country regardless of language- as well as library content and more. “Univision is committed to making the programs Hispanic Americans love accessible anytime and anywhere. The demand for Univision’s content is tremendous and this will be the first time our most popular programming will be available on the Internet,” said Tonia O’Connor, president, Distribution Sales & Marketing, Univision Communications Inc. “Since the launch of Hulu, we’ve been focused on delivering the world’s premium content to our users, while building a service that creates value for both advertisers and the content community. This partnership with Univision is a great example of that on all counts,” said Andy Forssell, SVP of Content Acquisition for Hulu.As part of this agreement, Hulu users will have next-day access to a selection of current season programming, while Hulu Plus subscribers will have much deeper access to current primetime episodes as well as hundreds of hours of library content.
