Venezuelan director Vicente Albarracín

Vicente Albarracín spoke to PRODU about Pasión Prohibida, the Telemundo telenovela he currently directs. The Venezuelan veteran of 21 years had his first stint at Telemundo directing Relaciones Peligrosas. “Both Pasión Prohibida and Relaciones Peligrosas are very special to me. Pasión has been an interesting project. Besides directing, alongside Juan Camilo Ferrand and his team, I was in charge of the literary editing of the first 60 episodes.“I think the biggest blessing of Pasión prohibida is having an extraordinary script. It’s written in a strange tone; a tone that seems slow for certain things and fast for others. It’s a surprising story with a wonderful second ingredient: a great cast,” said Albarracín.Pasión Prohibida features a new three-dimensional set, an advantage according to the director. “We’re excited about the large investment Telemundo made. It’s a 360 studio, in other words, everything is in the same place, allowing us to try many things. Everyday we have different camera placements, we can play. The writing is pretty complex, moving from one set to the next, and the studio allows for great aesthetics. It’s a modern product, that I believe will bring something different to the Telemundo screen,” added Albarracín.
