Mexico’s The Agency offers package of 31 shorts about the World Cup that has already been acquired by Univision

The Agency, the company of Érik Zuckermann and David Laffan, recently partnered with production houses García Bross and Arte Mecánica, all Mexican companies, to create, produce and distributre a package of 31 three- to five-minute shorts featuring stories related to the upcoming Brazil World Cup. It’s 31 because the World Cup lasts 31 days and the idea is to air one a day. It’s an international project because it’s being produced in 20 different countries, shot by the most renowned directors of each of the participating countries from Europe, Asia and Latin America.The concept, created by Mexican director Daniel Gruener, from the production house García Bross, tells through compelling images human stories related to soccer. Through the international connections of the participating production houses, several directors were contacted and asked to capture their vision of soccer, the most popular sport in the world.All shorts are being post-produced in Mexico. It was reported that Univision already acquired the series and entitled it Short Plays.
