For Gustavo Cruz, corporate director at Grupo Imagen Multimedia/Cadenatres, now the priority is to acquire the transmission equipment to install the 123 transmission plants -aside from the complementary ones- and initiate the national open TV network that the company won after a recent bid in Mexico, for that, the investment will be approximately US$655 million.”The main thing is to distribute the channel throughout the country. Therefore, now the priority is to acquire the transmission equipment to install the 123 transmission plants, as well as the complementary ones. For that we are talking to all the manufacturers and thus make the best decision. The investment for this project is 10 thousand million Mexican pesos (approximately US$655 million) to set up the network”, stated the executive to PRODU during NAB 2015.Cruz added that in NAB they are looking for the technology they need to start up the project, mainly remote signal blocking equipment, to comply with the legislation on electoral advertising in Mexico.”We are seeking innovative solutions, not just in video equipments, but also in signal blocking automation, camera equipment and robotic arms, although it is still not clear how many studios we will set up and what size they will be”, he added.
