Gustavo Guzmán, who has been next to Ricardo Salinas from the beginnings of the TV network, and is now the big boss at Azteca in the US, told PRODU in New York that the growth they have experienced is due to the fact that they had placed executive Hispanics in managerial positions, they had recovered soccer, and that the newscasts had added local color with reporters in US cities.Manuel Abud, president and CEO of Azteca America, during the Upfront, announced a general increase of 39% in primetime and 48% on Fridays thanks to soccer. “Last year, I made a commitment to our advertisers and partners to deliver new executive leadership, a new Azteca Station Group, a stronger brand, more solid programming and innovative partnerships.
