Sabadazo by producer Alexis Núñez Oliva for Televisa replaces Sábado Gigante on Univision starting October 17th

In a move that can be considered historical, Sabadazo, a production by Alexis Núñez Oliva for Televisa, broadcast on Canal de las Estrellas in Mexico and Latin America, will start being aired on Saturdays from 8 to 11pm on Univision in the US starting October 17th, replacing Sábado Gigante, which ends after 53 years on the air.“Sabadazo began as a morning magazine. A year ago, Televisa asked us to turn it into a night magazine. Televisa has a long-standing tradition with the prime time schedule from Mondays to Fridays on Univision with telenovelas, but this is the first time that a Televisa magazine will be in prime time on Saturdays on Univision”, explained Núñez to PRODU.Sabadazo was aired a few months ago at 2pm on Saturdays on Univision. In October, the space, comprised of 95% humor, hosted by Omar Chaparro, Cecilia Galliano and Laura G, is about to reach its fifth year on the air. “The program presents artists and a lot of sketches. It is very attractive on social networks and is in permanent communication with the audience, who participates sending videos and stories. It is shot as if it were live with HD quality”, mentioned Núñez. He added that the three personalities of the program total 22 million followers on social networks. He stated that “thanks to the vision” of Alberto Ciurana, president of Programming and Content at Univision, Sabadazo reaches the night schedule in the channel. “Ciurana is the heart that pumps the most blood to entertainment”, he said.
