Closing a BIG Deal de Natpe

For virtual pitchings, you must work harder. It is necessary to understand that the buyer’s ecosystem is changing, the audience wants to be entertained, storytelling and execution are vital when considering contents; were some of the conclusions of the panel Closing a Big Deal on the third day of the NATPE Miami Virtual 2021.

The panel was integrated by Maarten Meijs, president of Global Entertainment at ITV Studios; Eric Schotz, CEO from Anvil 1893; Kevin Levy, EVP, Program Planning, Scheduling, and Acquisitions at The CW; and Danny Fenton, CEO of Zigzag. The moderator was Tom Umstead from Multichannel News.

According to Fenton, one way to remain competitive is to continue connecting and being flexible. He added that now there are more opportunities for co-productions, both in the United Kingdom -where his company Zigzag is from- and in the US. He also mentioned that there are more possibilities for handling sales.

Meijs explained that from the point of view of content and distribution, it is better to be an agnostic platform (to not have ties with any platform).
