Bob Chapek Investor Day
Disney+ has exceeded 100 million paid subscriptions worldwide since its launch. The announcement was made by Bob Chapek, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, during the annual shareholders´ virtual meeting.
“The huge success of Disney+, which now exceeds 100 million subscriptions, has inspired us to be even more ambitious and significantly increase our investment in the development of higher quality content. In fact, we set a goal of over 100 new titles per year, and this includes Disney Animation, Disney Live-Action, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. Our direct-to-consumer business is the company’s main priority and our solid content flow will continue to nourish its growth,” stated Chapek.
Disney+ was launched in the US on November 12, 2019, then in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Latin America, and, more recently, in Singapore.
