The newscast will also air on Univision and UniMás stations in Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Cleveland, Raleigh, Tampa, Orlando, Boston, Hartford and Springfield to bring relevant stories and information to the broader Puerto Rican community in the United States.
“We are more committed than ever to investing in the Puerto Rican community regardless of where they reside and are thrilled to give our viewers tailored news in a unique, interactive format. As the only newscast in Puerto Rico that will cover the entire island, as well as top cities with high Puerto Rican populations in the US, Edición Digital- Puerto Rico will deliver on the promise of being a unique newscast by and for our community. As part of this effort, Univision Network is strengthening the News department at Univision WOLE with new teams, new systems and new studio sets that will change the way our audience in Puerto Rico, and in the U.S., gets information,” said Ramón Pineda, president and general manager of Univision Puerto Rico and Univision WOLE.
“Edición Digital – Puerto Rico marks the first time in Puerto Rican history that a national newscast will be broadcast from the island’s west coast. Without neglecting the metro area, we are excited to cover stories and news that affect our communities throughout the island daily,” said Jeanette López, News director, Univision WOLE.
