Sony Pictures Television announced the development of Fernando Gaitán’s final project Yo No Soy Mendoza

Sony Pictures Television announced the development of Yo No Soy Mendoza, celebrated Colombian writer Fernando Gaitán’s final project. Gaitán, the creator of Ugly Betty, is considered by the Guinness World Records as the most successful telenovela writer in history.
Yo No Soy Mendoza is a dramedy series set to be produced in Colombia and Mexico and will feature 26 hour-long episodes.
The project’s development agreement was announced shortly before Gaitán’s unexpected passing in January of this year. SPT has enlisted screenwriter Juan Carlos Pérez (Gaitán’s Script Assistant on Café and Guajira and Head Writer of La Pola, El Fiscal and award-winning series, Garzón) to help finalize the project.
