Melvin Pérez, well-known executive in the industry and who was president of MGM Networks Latin America for several years, died after a disease.

Melvin entered MGM Networks Latin America in 1997. There, he performed in positions such like CFO and COO, under the direction of Gustavo Pupo-Mayo, until he was promoted to CEO in 2008, after Pupo-Mayo´s resignation. He left the company in 2012 when it was acquired by Chello Media (currently AMC Networks).

He began his career in the industry in companies such as WSCV-TV Canal 51 Miami and Telemundo Network.

“The news of Melvin´s death is very sad. He was a great friend and colleague, an executive of few words, but with a very big heart. He always had time to listen and help everyone. We faced many challenges together during the development of MGM Networks Latin America. I never heard him raise his voice at anyone. I will remember him fondly,” expressed Pupo-Mayo.
