The format Balcony Stories, made during the pandemic, is one of Viacom International Studios´s (VIS) most recent projects that has been launched on more than 100 channels of the company`s international network, in 27 different language versions. The comment was made by Laura Abril, SVP of VIS for Europe, the Middle East, Africa y Asia (EMEAA) during his participation in the online talk In Conversation Con VIS, chaired by the actress Valeria Vera.

Balcony Stories was born from the content generated by our audience, our users, that aims to reflect this moment of lockdown we are experiencing for the first time worldwide,” she explains.

Abril, who is in Madrid, mentioned the launch of Comedy Central News in Italy, which also comes out in Spain and Germany. She announced a new season of Ex on the Beach, produced in Benelux, and the fifth season of the youth´s series Spotlight.

She also highlighted La Novia Gitana, an adaptation of the homonymous novel, with Endemol Shine and Diagonal TV, whose showrunner will soon be announced; the biopic of the Spanish boxer Poli Díaz and the dramedy El Día Menos Pensado with Zeta Studios, whose trailer was shown during the presentation.

Guillermo Borensztein, Content Sales and Co-Productions VP at VIS America, said that during quarantine, interest in catalog content and pre-purchase of productions that still haven´t begun. He also mentioned the US version of 100 Días Para Enamorarse for Showtime.

“We are facing what is coming with a clear vision of what we want, where we are heading, and the deep conviction of doing it as a team. I think that this is the most interesting message we want to convey to the industry: working as a team for what is coming and we set forth to accomplish two years ago” he detailed.
