CNNE: Relevance is indispensable right now

CNN en Español is growing on several fronts: on digital with almost 50 million unique users per month and an increase of more than 100% on video downloads, the second-highest quarter in signal´s history, and through WarnerMedia -AT&T and DIRECTV-, an increase of the reach in US homes for a total of 22.9 million, as well as the almost 30 million they already have in Latin America. This growth was highlighted by Cynthia Hudson, SVP, and general director of CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategy for CNN/US during her participation in #PRODUprimetime with Ríchard Izarra. She also mentioned that for the first time, they are the number one news brand in Mexico, according to the Reuters ranking. 

Hudson detailed that currently, they must be extremely innovative. “To think beyond what has been the tradition of our networks, think about how audiences are going to interact with us because there is one essential thing: in the long run, what we are looking for is audiences. These audiences somehow have to feel part of the brand. Relevance is indispensable right now”.

She commented that it is necessary to be more strategic and as part of this, the signal is analyzing a redesign of their studios in Miami, as well as changes in the offices. “The lease of the building in Brickell is about to end. I don’t know if we are going to renovate or change places, not to add big studios. What is the visual language of the moment? We are experimenting with different ways of communicating with our audience” she explained.
