Coty Cagliolo, general manager of Fremantle Mexico and Head of Production for Fremantle LatAm, said in #PRODUprimetime with Richard Izarra that the pandemic will make us stronger. “It is a longer process than we expected, which we did not accept from the outset and with which we will have to learn to live and think differently.”

She explains that in her case she went through a mourning process. “It´s like when you organize a party in your house garden and it rains. This was 2020: we were saying we grew up here, we expanded there, everything was projections and suddenly, the bomb ”.

She recognizes that it is necessary to talk with the people in the organization and with clients with honesty. “It is a situation in which the irresponsibility of one person on the team can cost the rest and the entire industry. If those of us who start producing do it wrong, it will affect the rest.”

She states that channels and platforms are going to continue needing content. “In different conditions, perhaps open TV and cable channels with smaller budgets”.

As for trends, she forecasts that the audience needs more comedy, humor and optimistic contents, perhaps escapist ones, “stories that separate it a bit from the disgrace, things that entertain us, and that give us a bit of nostalgia,” she said, after clarifying that it is not about consuming old content but about making versions.

She states that during this time, they have been working on developments and buying book rights.
