Animation studio ZAG appoints Marifely Argüello as VP of Product Development for the US and LatAm

With the goal of driving creative strategies and product development, Animation studio ZAG appointed Marifely Argüello as VP of Product Development for the US and Latin America, she will be reporting to Julian Zag, Executive VP of Global Operations. Argüello joins the global consumer products creative team and will lead and build the creative team in the US and Latin America, spearheading the creation and design of assets, trends, product direction, and style guides for all ZAG Heroez brands.
This move comes with a change in ZAG’s strategy to manage licensing and marketing activities internally with the Latin America team led by Angela Cortez, VP of Consumer Products for the region. ZAG continues to work with agencies in select regions, including co-production partner Gloob in Brazil, and the newly appointed Mon Licensing in Central America, Colombia, and Ecuador.
“Now that we have created our own consumer products teams in the US and Latin America, and as we accelerate our direct offerings to retailers, it makes sense for ZAG to handle our consumer products business directly for most countries,” said Jeremy. Zag, founder and CEO of ZAG.
Previously, Argüello worked for ViacomCBS, and more recently she served as Senior Creative Manager, Promotions and Electronic Commerce / Consumer Products, in Latin America. She started at Viacom International Media Networks in 2009, serving in various consumer product roles.
