After an alliance with Greenpeace, History will be premiering Por Acá No!, a half-hour documentary warning about the threat of polluting a large part of the Argentine maritime coast due to oil exploration. It will be released on Thursday, May 5 at 10pm (Argentina time) and will also be available on VOD and on History Play and constitutes part of its original production strategy.

To launch of the documentary included the arrival of the Greenpeace Arctic Sunrise icebreaker –one of its three research vessels- to Buenos Aires port, where the environmental organization a History organized a tour for the guests, that also watched the program for the first time together with its stars, Chino Darín and Natalie Pérez.

“Environmental issues are an increasingly massive claim rooted in the culture of our region. There are many stories that connect the historical perspective with the environment, and here is where we see a great opportunity for two brands with the prestige of Greenpeace and History to join forces to tell them,” Miguel Brailovsky, Senior VP of Content, History Latin America Brands, told PRODU.

This year History will also premiere the fifth season of Desafío Sobre Fuego Latinoamérica; the second of Inexplicable Latinoamérica; the special edition of Alienígenas Ancestrales Latinoamérica; the Brazilian Serie B in homage to the 200 years of its independence; including also a number of special events at the local level, such as the premiere of the Greenpeace documentary and the four investigative specials conducted by the Mexican journalist Jaime Maussan.

“Local production has been a fundamental pillar of History’s content strategy since its launch. In addition to strictly local initiatives, today we are focused on making local our great franchises to make them stronger and more relevant because they create a much closer emotional connection with the audience and will continue to be a priority for History,” he concluded.
