Estrella Media appointed former NBCUniversal, Enrique Guillén, as CCO. He will be reporting to CEO Peter Markham and be based in the Burbank offices.

Guillén will oversee the US domestic and global content strategy for the businesses of television, streaming, digital, audio, events, and digital, including the development, production, and acquisition of all TV and film content. In addition, he will be responsible for the international distribution of the company’s content.

“Enrique brings impeccable credentials as a leading executive in global content development and distribution, and is a perfect fit to help our company speed up our leadership position,” said Markham. “We look forward to Enrique playing a leading role in helping us plan for our next phase of growth as the changes taking place in our industry offer unprecedented opportunities for Estrella Media.”

“I am thrilled to join the entrepreneurial team at Estrella Media to shape a forward-thinking content strategy that is deeply relevant to US Latino audiences and connects the community’s universal values with global audiences,” Guillen said.

During his tenure at NBCUniversal, Guillén served as Executive VP of Business Strategy and International Development for Universal Studio Group. He was involved in projects like Supertitlan, a co-production with Dopamine, and the 10-episode series The Americas, a natural history production for NBC and Peacock, co-produced with the BBC Studios Natural History Unit.

Guillén was one of the founding executives of Universal Television Alternative Studio. Prior to joining NBC Entertainment, Guillen was VP of Development and Production at Telemundo Studios, where he oversaw scripted productions in the US and Latin America. He began his career as an investigative journalist and producer, covering national and world politics for Univision News.
