Olympusat: Launching FAST Channels in English

Olympusat is launching FAST Channels (free streaming channels with integrated advertising) in English. “We know that Content Americas is a market very focused on Latin America and the US Hispanic, but in these territories there is also room for channels in English,” said Aurora Mohler, CCO. She added that they are not only looking to distribute these channels in the region and in the US and Canada, but are also interested in some parts of Europe and Asia.
At Content Americas, Mohler was looking for content for these FAST Channels and for their pay TV channels in Spanish such as Top Cine, Tu Cine, Cine Real, Juntos, Saber Más, Chiquilines.
”We want to give these channels a younger approach, we are looking for very high quality content in various genres such as sci-fi, horror, suspense and mystery,” said Mohler, who handles all content for Olympusat.
They recently closed contracts with the BBC, Banijay, eOne, among others. With eOne, Olympusat secured a multi-year licensing partnership to distribute more than 200 hours of their content on their newly launched FAST Channels in the US and LatAm. The license package acquired from eOne contains many popular top titles like: Hell on Wheels I-VI, Nurses II, Ransom I-III and, Deputy I . “People will be able to watch these scripted series in our Spanish FAST channels: Tu Cine and Top Cine available in most of the connected devices,” commented Mohler.
Olympusat has eight FAST Channels in Spanish and six in English.
