Paramount+ was part of Roku’s celebration around Streaming Day introducing its most recent release, Uno para morir, as an example of its content. This is the debut feature of Manolo Cardona, founder of the production house 11:11 Films & TV, who spoke about this production filmed entirely in Mexico.

“It is a story that came to me at a time when I was looking for projects and began thinking about becoming a director, I loved the premise and from there we began to develop, together with the writers, this suspenseful thriller where nothing is what it seems. There are seven unknown characters locked in a house and they have to be part of a macabre game. It’s the third week of release and the film is number one on Paramount+,” he commented.

Being his first feature, Cardona highlighted that, unlike other projects where he has been a producer, here “you have to make decisions about everything, from the costumes, creating the universe, the tone, the staging, choosing the actors, actresses, the technical team and deciding daily what will be done. It is an opportunity to show my point of view, to introduce a universe and a proposal that I have wanted for a long time.”

Uno para Morir was filmed in Mexico City, Puebla and in a place called Roca Partida located in Veracruz.

Finally, he took stock of the 18 years of his production house 11:11 Films & TV, responsible for Uno para morir. He said that they seek to be at the forefront, “with unique, different and disruptive stories, in several genres. That is the seal of quality we stamp on each project, not only on the screen, but behind it, from talents to directors, writers and all of those involved. Today we have a relationship with almost all the platforms, we are producing a lot for all of them and we are grateful that they continue to open doors for us.”
