The production company HispanoMedios launched its HispanoTV app with 15 thousand hours of content in Spanish, most produced in Venezuela. It is available on www.mihispano.tv, iOS, and Android and, as of November 20, can be accessed via connected TV on Roku devices, Samsung TV, LG, and Fire TV, among others. The platform has access anywhere in the world.

“The app’s content is focused on Spanish speakers. Its priority is to be an international window for Venezuelan content. The decline of Venezuelan TV coincided with the arrival of streaming platforms and stopped being an option. The platform encompasses the best of Venezuelan content; we have more than 15 thousand hours, including more than 250 Venezuelan movie titles, all the telenovelas, and RCTV variety shows. We have the old content and the new stories with the same people; that is our premise. They are stories with flavor, a Venezuelan accent, and its culture,” said Daniel Ferrer Cubillán, producer and CEO of HispanoTV.

Ferrer explained that the app will have an AVOD space and the Dramáticas series space available on pay-per-view. “There is no subscription scheme, only pay-per-view for the premium content that is there, for example, Dramas.”

In addition to RCTV, HispanoTV has licensing agreements with other Venezuelan producers. “We are going to have varied content where the priority, in this startup stage, will be Venezuelan production,” he said.

He announced that on November 27, HispanoTV will hold an upfront in Venezuela and on the 29th in Miami. During the pre-sale, they will announce the second season of Dramáticas (12×60′).

He highlighted that the plan for 2024 is to continue producing original content, and, at the moment, he has plans for six projects, including feature films and series.

He indicated that they are in talks with different partners to co-produce. The investment used for the productions comes from their pocket or partners. He added that Hugo Devana will continue to be the head of production, and two executives are about to be appointed CFO and Content for HispanoTV.
