Edye, the 5-year-old SVOD platform featuring kid’s content and owned by HITN, announced during NATPE that they are in advanced talks with different operators to launch a linear channel of the platform.

Guillermo Sierra, director of Television and Digital Services at HITN, gave the scoop by reporting that these operators have informed them that there are great opportunities for a channel and a brand like Edye to launch a linear channel. “The operators have asked us to take advantage of the beautiful brand that we have created in these five years. So we are thrilled we will launch this channel in the upcoming months to serve all that audience and operators throughout the region.”

For them, NATPE has always been the market that sets the tone to understand where the industry is heading. “In recent years at HITN, our linear channel in the US has focused more on adding more entertainment content with Spanish series. Generally, we had been more on the factual and the documentary sides. Series and the film section have worked very well for us.”

Sierra said they are attending the Miami market looking for all types of entertainment, from factual to fiction. He added that they closed 2023 with good ratings, so they have high expectations for what 2024 will be like.
