The Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA) chose Andy Checo, director of Publicity and Community Relations at MundoFox as president of the National Board of Directors for this 2015.”HPRA has taken significant steps in raising its profile and expanding its presence in recent years,” Checo said. “As the leading Hispanic organization representing the areas of PR and Marketing, we must be strong advocates of the industry and continue offering our members valuable prospects and development opportunities.”Checo had served as an elected leader of HPRA during 2014; also as president of HPRA in New York in 2013.HPRA 2015 also includes Antonio Hernandez of Globovoz in the National Board in Chicago as elected president; Yvonne Lorie of Commonground / MGS in Miami as VP of Programming; Veronica Potes of NBC Universal, as VP of Membership; Lourdes Rodriguez of VPE PR in Los Angeles as Treasurer; and Mayra Ramos Miro of Red Heels International Miami as a secretary.HPRA remains the leader of communication professionals who seek experience in the Hispanic market, raising in turn fund college scholarships for full-time students pursuing a career in the world of communications.
