Univision will broadcast Premios TVyNovelas on Sunday April 16

Hispanic television’s top talent will be recognized for the 35th consecutive year on the Premios TVyNovelas (TVyNovelas Awards), which will be broadcast by Univision on Sunday, April 16, at 8pm.

Programs, actors, directors, producers, and behind-the-scenes staff will compete for awards in more than two dozen categories.

Telenovela La Candidata, a story of political intrigue pitting husband and wife against each other, that is set to premiere Tuesday, May 2 on UniMás, leads the list of nominees with a total of 20.

The show will be hosted by 2016 best actress winner Maite Perroni and multitalented Chilean actor Cristián de la Fuente.

The buildup to the awards program gets underway on Univision hours before showtime with Camino a Premios TVyNovelas 2017 at 4pm and Noche de Estrellas de Premios TVy Novelas 2017 at 7pm.
