In the context of the NBCUniversal Upfront, whose slogan was Unequaled NBC, the actors Kate del Castillo and Rafael Amaya were appointed by Telemundo to present on stage two of the network’s big bets for 2018: La Reina del Sur 2 and El Secreto de Selena.

“Telemundo is changing the face of Hispanic media with a different approach than conventional content in Spanish,” expressed Amaya during the presentation.

“We are extremely proud to be part of the network that is innovating by establishing a new standard of TV in Spanish,” added del Castillo.

Regarding La Reina del Sur 2, Amaya said it is the sequel of the series that broke all the records when it was aired for the first time, seen in more than 85 countries and translated into more than 25 languages. “The story is so powerful that it inspired an adaptation into English for the sister signal USA,” he added.

Del Castillo said that El Secreto de Selena, based on the book by María Celeste Arrarás, exposed the secrets that led to the tragic death of the young rising star.

The NBCU upfront was kicked off by Linda Yaccarino, Chairman of Advertising Sales & Client Partnerships at NBCUniversal, who spoke about the brand security that the group’s portfolio offers and highlighted several alliances consolidated by the company with BuzzFeed and Snapchat for digital, and with Apple News to create the best experiences on mobile.
