Colombia’s RCN informed that Gabriel Reyes was leaving the presidency of the channel to assume the position of VP of Corporate Affairs at the Ardila Lülle Organization. José Roberto Arango will be temporary president.

Arango has worked as an economist creating companies like Alianza Team, working on the sales of Cadenalco (current Almacenes Éxito), and has helped save other companies that were soon to be liquidated, such as: Coltejer, Acerías Paz del Río, Rápido Ochoa, and the ending of the lawsuit between the Gilinski family and Bancolombia, which lasted 11 years.

In the public light, he was Secretary of Treasury and councilman of his hometown Medellin. Between 2002 and 2004, he served as a high presidential advisor, in the government of Álvaro Uribe Vélez.

In 2010, he was appointed by the government as an enabler to save the Millonarios Fútbol Club soccer team from bankruptcy, in the position of president of the team since the month of May. By solving the excesses of the previous owners, he earned the nickname “El Mago Arango” (Arango the Magician) sports journalism gave him.

In this new stage of Canal RCN that has been exceeded in the audience by Caracol Televisión the last four years, Arango will undertake the challenge of countering this dominance. The upcoming launches they have planned are Colombia Ríe on January 9 at 8pm, Garzón on January 15 at 9pm and Paraíso Travel the same day at 10pm.
