Luis Balaguer, CEO & co-founder of Latin World Entertainment, will be one of the participants

Iberseries & Platino Industria 2024, taking place in October in Madrid, will dedicate a day to U.S. Hispanic content, featuring international professionals working on Spanish-language content in the U.S.

These stories will be highlighted in the conference program. Executives will discuss creating films and series, the needs of commissioners, understanding this audience and their language, and improving the industry to bring authentic, commercially successful projects to the U.S. Hispanic market.

Under the guidance of hit creators, insights on producing this content will be shared. Participants include Leonardo Zimbrón, Senior VP of International Coproduction & SP Features at 3Pas Studios, and Luis Balaguer, CEO & co-founder of Latin World Entertainment.

The attractiveness of the Ibero-American market for the U.S. will be assessed, noting its growth potential, lower costs, and opportunities for collaboration with local talent. Discussions will also cover co-production opportunities between the U.S. and Ibero-American territories, the impact of different business models, and creativity, with contributions from professionals like Jacobo Aparicio, International Director at Anonymous Content.

Another topic is the appeal of remakes beyond adaptations. Experts will examine why content is adapted, the benefits of buying successful formats to reduce costs and risks, and how to reach new audiences. Discussions will include whether success is easily replicable, the best countries for finding IPs, creating franchises from scratch, and preserving the authenticity of the original concept.
