Roxana Rotundo, CEO of VIP 2000 TV, who 14 years ago began a successful path in production, with her first project being Escándalos, and who has been in the world of distribution for 30 years, spoke EN VIVO with Ríchard Izarra during the third day of filming of Eva y Adán in Miami, a film franchise that VIP 2000 TV co-produces with We Love Entertainment, Vilaplana Films and El Sueño Eterno Pictures.

“I think I found a formula to produce non-stop. I think the secret is to team up, to form alliances. I am very happy with this co-production, to unite Spain and the US with Latin America. We know what that means and those who are in the business know how complicated it is. We have created an extraordinary team with people who have been supporting VIP 2000 TV for a long time, such as Irasema Otero (partner of Vilaplana Films), Lilo Vilaplana, Ricardo Álamo, I value that very much,” said Rotundo.

Eva y Adán in Miami marks the return to acting of Elizabeth Gutiérrez, who stars alongside Julián Gil and with whom she shares the role of executive producer. Rotundo mentioned that the film will take two weeks of shooting, VIP 2000 TV will have distribution for the US Hispanic and Latin America and El Sueño Eterno Pictures handles distribution for Portugal and Spain. She indicated that during Content Americas they already had offers from the US Hispanic and Latam to exhibit the film.

EL SUEÑO ETERNO PICTURES

The addition of the Spanish production company El Sueño Eterno Pictures to the Eva y Adán in Miami project was through Verónica Ortiz, executive producer in Latin America, a mutual friend of Rotundo and the CEO of El Sueño Eterno Pictures, Patricia González Cuesta.

González said EN VIVO with Ríchard Izarra that in addition to Eva y Adán in Miami, they already have three films: The Wedding with Elena Furiase; Panama Papers with Megan Montaner, Carlos Bardem, Antonio Dechent and Gustavo Bassani; and Bárbaros with Greta Fernández, Àlex Monner, Job Mansilla and Eliza Rycembel. In addition, they begin on March 17, “a great challenge for us, which is a blockbuster, with the biopic of the rock band Mägo de Oz with Álvaro Brechner and 12 weeks of filming, since in Spain a film of that magnitude has not been shot for a long time.”

BRANDED CONTENT TO FINANCE FILMS

Lilo Vilaplana, of Vilaplana Films, is the director of Eva y Adán in Miami, as well as executive producer. He mentioned that the plan is to shoot the film for two weeks in Miami and then go into post-production, which will be done in Spain.

Vilaplana said EN VIVO with Ríchard Izarra that this would be the fourth film they have made. Previously, he made Plantados, Plantadas and El caballo. Vilaplana has directed several projects for the Duque family in Colombia (FoxTelecolombia, now TIS Productions), he also directed the soap opera Valentina, mi amor especial for VIP 2000 TV and made the series El Capo 4 in Colombia for TIS Productions.

He revealed that he is working on a project about the concentration camps in Cuba (UMAT), where homosexuals and those who did not agree with Fidel Castro’s regime were taken.

He said that one way to finance the production of several films in Miami has been through branded content. “It is a formula of co-production and collaborations to make projects like these possible, to obtain financing for films. We did it with El Caballo, we did it with Plantadas and Eva y Adán en Miami,” he said.

He indicated that other protagonists of this franchise will be cities such as Paris, in addition to Miami, and the next stop is Madrid. “Taking this franchise to different cities and countries,” he said.

Gil announced EN VIVO with Richard Izarra that he is coming up with a “very ambitious project with one of the largest Spanish-speaking chains, for the second quarter of the year. I am very excited.”
