Paramount’s Screening Kicks Off the Majors with New and Ambitious Titles for 2026

Paramount held its traditional Latin American buyers' screenings from its studios in Los Angeles

May has arrived, and as usual, the major studios are holding their screenings to showcase the upcoming season’s releases to clients and the press. Paramount is typically the first to do so, and this time, from their studios in Los Angeles, they gathered hundreds of buyers and industry executives with the same goal: to see what Paramount Global Content Distribution has in store for late 2025 and 2026.

Lisa Kramer, President of International Content Licensing at Paramount Global, opened the event, accompanied by Dan Cohen, Chief Content Licensing Officer at Paramount and President of Republic Pictures. Kramer presented the updates in television and series, while Cohen focused on films.

They were also joined by Lauren Marriott, Senior VP of Content Partnerships and Brand Strategy at Paramount Global Content Distribution, who unveiled the latest in children’s programming.

SCREENINGS

During the event, pilots for two new series were shown. The first was DVM, a comedy produced by CBS Studios starring Harriet Dyer and Tim Meadows. The story follows DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) employees who are about to lose their jobs and be replaced by automated staff.

The second screening was NCIS: Tony & Ziva, marking the return of the two characters for a new season of NCIS, after Ziva was supposedly killed off in the previous installment. The series is packed with action.

NEW TITLES / SPIN-OFFS

The most notable news was the announcement of several spin-offs from some of their flagship series, including Fire Country, FBI, Blue Bloods, and Yellowstone.

From Fire Country, comes Sheriff County, a crime drama starring Morena Baccarin as Sheriff Mickey Fox, continuing the firefighter saga. It’s expected to premiere in the U.S. later this year.

From FBI, there will be a spin-off titled CIA. It will premiere soon on CBS and is produced by Dick Wolf, the same producer behind the FBI franchise.

From Blue Bloods, Donnie Wahlberg returns to his hometown of Boston in a sequel titled Boston Blue. Wahlberg reprises his role as NYPD detective Danny Reagan, who takes a position with the Boston Police Department.

Finally, from Yellowstone, two spin-offs are in development: The Dutton Ranch, set to premiere later this year on Paramount+, and Y: Marshals, which will air on CBS in the U.S. In addition, the prequel series 1923, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, will be followed by a new prequel titled 1944, set to debut next year.

FAST

The company stated that it is investing time and resources into FAST channels. Previous studies revealed that global FAST revenues have doubled in the past five years and are projected to grow an additional 48% by 2029.

Paramount Global Content Distribution will be launching two new FAST channels: one for the Tony Robbins Network and his entire content library, and another focused on wrestling, called Wrestling Central.
