We Love Entertainment (WLE) has begun filming in Miami its first English-language comedy series, Babú, under the direction of Alfredo Hueck.
Carlos Mesber, CEO of WLE, said the comedy was originally written 25 years ago, in 2001, “when it was just a script full of dreams. In 2006, when I became a producer—20 years ago now—I made two pilots: Babú, and another entertainment project called Sabrosa Pasión, a celebrity cooking show. When I ventured out boldly and without knowing what would happen in Cannes, Sabrosa Pasión was the pilot that sold and the one that set the course of my career, leading me down the path of entertainment. That path has been spectacular and has allowed me to create and produce more than 15 programs, but Babú was put away, waiting for its moment, as my professional life took me in another direction.”

He added that he took that story, that idea he has dreamed of, “written and lived all my life, and placed it in the hands of wonderful writers and comedians, and together we have transformed it into something even bigger. Babú is a story that, in some way, my brother and I have lived and played since we were children, just 4 and 5 years old,” he said.
Mesber thanked everyone who is part of “this wonderful project”: the cast, writers, technical crew, and production team. “You have no idea how happy I am to finally bring to life a project that comes from the heart, that is family-oriented, and whose story is inspired by my origins, my family, and in some way carries the essence of my own life. Today those games are reality. Today, at last, the moment we have always been waiting for has arrived. Babú now exists… and we are enjoying it minute by minute,” Mesber concluded.
