No Es un Mito: La Llorona (60x1’)

No Es un Mito: La Llorona (60×1’) is a supernatural horror series in Spanish presented in a vertical format optimized for mobile viewing.

It is conceived as the first title under the No Es Un Mito label, part of a broader strategy by SPT Latam to explore new formats.

No Es un Mito: La Llorona is a premium vertical horror series that reinvents the legendary Latin American myth of the same name. The microdrama portrays a romantic tragedy and a generational curse within a dual-timeline structure, where the sins of the past consume the present.

After surviving a terrifying supernatural attack, Javier Alonso Vergara discovers that he is descended from the man who destroyed La Llorona’s life generations earlier. Haunted by the spirit and marked by her curse, Javier joins forces with Verónica, a fearless paranormal investigator, to uncover the truth behind the deaths of María’s children before becoming the next victim.

Blending emotional melodrama, mystery, and supernatural horror, the series combines cinematic storytelling with an immersive vertical format designed for mobile-first audiences.

“We are excited to continue expanding our storytelling formats with No Es Un Mito: La Llorona, our first premium microdrama for Latin America. This project reflects our commitment to developing compelling local stories designed for today’s digital audiences and reaching viewers wherever they are,” said Selina Nederhand, SVP & Co-Head of Networks at SPT.

“For VIP 2000 TV, the rapidly growing microdrama market represents an opportunity to develop distinctive niche narratives with a strong global identity. Latin American urban horror legends represent a rich storytelling universe that already fascinates audiences around the world. La Llorona is one of the most iconic because it transcends generations and borders, and thanks to its high production value, this adaptation is designed to connect with audiences in a bold and innovative way,” said Roxana Rotundo, CEO of VIP 2000 TV.

The cast of La Llorona is led by Emma Mizhari as María, who also portrays the haunting figure of La Llorona, alongside Daniel Medina in the dual role of Javier and Alonso. The production also stars Laura Rosguer as Verónica and renowned Venezuelan actress Verónica Schneider as Doña Beatriz.
