BluePrint: Shooting of Hernán Cortés starts at the beginning of 2018

TV Azteca, Radio Televisión Española and Telemundo, have reached an agreement to boost the making of the series Hernán Cortés (13×60´), together with the Mexican production company BluePrint and the Spanish production company DiagonalTV (Endemol Shine Group). The announcement was made in the context of MipTV.

BluePrint began this project more than three years ago. Later, the production company DiagonalTV joined in.

Raúl Campos, CEO of the production company, said they are currently in the pre-production and casting stage to start shooting in locations in Mexico at the beginning of 2018. The series will go on air at the end of that year.

“It is a very ambitious Project with large budgets and it has many production challenges. The story is about Hernán Cortés´ trip from Cuba to Mexico,” he explained.

He added that it is a love and war story, and about the encounter between two very different worlds.

For the making of the series, BluePrint purchased the rights of the book Hernán Cortés, el Inventor de México written by Juan Mireles.

“We are very enthusiastic, because he was a complex character who had a very clear goal, great improvisation capability and was a great leader, but at the same time was a very ambitious man,” he concluded.
