Bunim/Murray Productions, with over 25 years innovating in the U.S., having popularized reality shows such as The Real World – already in its 29th season on MTV-, and Keeping Up with The Kardashians, has been observing the U.S. Hispanic market closely and launched the BMP Latin division a few years ago.Gabriela Cocco-Sánchez, VP of BMP Latin, spoke with PRODU about some of the most recent products of this unit.“We just produced a show for mun2 called Combate Américas, surrounding Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), one of the fastest growing sports. Hispanics have been big followers, mostly due to the popularity of boxing,” said Cocco-Sánchez.The show is a combination of The Real World and UFC. It is a reality competition featuring 10 one-hour episodes, airing Sundays on mun2. “We have MMA professionals from Latin America. The hosts are Venezuelan artists Chino y Nacho, and Daddy Yankee is the show commissioner,” she added.Cocco-Sánchez leads BPM Latin along with her partner Julio Caro, developing new projects and managing the productions of the division.“We have a project with actor Adam Rodríguez, where he shows his social and philanthropic side; another project with Daddy Yankee as an entrepreneur; and another that involves a Mexican-American family, The López Family, who live in Encino, California. It’s the story of the American dream,” she added.
