Cadenatres: We want to solidify our position in Mexico and become an international player

Maribel Ramos-Weiner| 21 de octubre de 2014

Just a week from the premiere of Amor Sin Reserva (130×60’), co-production between Cadenatres and Corazón TV, Eric Reid, executive producer of Fictions for Cadenatres, said the networks’ main goal is to continue producing original content to solidify its position in Mexico, and later become an international player in content production and distribution. The company looks to create short formats that adapt to the new ways in which people are consuming TV.“We’re still not a player as a content producer and distributor in the international market. First we need to consolidate our place in Mexico and the international part will come later. We want to do this by producing teleseries and short formats, which is where we can stand out and which will allow us to forge partnerships with new independent players as we have done with Argos, Adicta Films and Corazón TV,” said Reid.He said that for a small channel like Cadenatres it’s not easy to maintain a stream of original productions: “producing 480 hours of fiction is hard, but we need to be strategic about it, and we’re confident that 2015 will be a year of big investment decision, but a system that combines original production and cans gives the audience the opportunity to watch the best content in Spanish, with bold stories from countries like Colombia or Spain.”Lastly, Reid confirmed Grupo Imagen is one of the players in the bidding process for the two new national networks.
