WGEN-TV in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale DMA appointed Carlos Márquez-Sterling the new general manager of its MundoMax affiliate. In the new role, Márquez-Sterling will be overseeing the day-to-day operations for the South Florida station, including business development, production, local promotions and marketing, programming, and administrative duties for the MundoMax affiliate. In addition to overseeing the long-term strategy and day-to-day management of the station, Márquez-Sterling will also be responsible for the operations of CAP Studios, a Caracol Televisión full-service Miami-based production arm that develops and produces original scripted and non-scripted programming nationwide and abroad, as well as provides facilities and services for the entertainment industry, including state-of-the-art fully equipped HD studios, production equipment, crews and a creative development staff. He will report directly to Luis Calle, VP of Operations for News and Sports for Caracol Televisión, and assume his new duties effective immediately. “Carlos brings significant industry and US Hispanic/Latin American multi-media experience to this role.
